Mods not showing up
Updated for Brotato 1.2.0.1 · checked 2026-11-05

The official cause I can quote is the patch note: an outdated mod can conflict, crash, or damage a save. Both 1.2 and All Pain No Gain tell you to unsubscribe first. ContentLoader and Mod Options are prerequisites for a lot of the Workshop, so a mod that 'does nothing' is often waiting on one of those two.
Beyond that, I do not have a Steam discussion thread I was able to read in full. The checklist I will still write, and label as community habit, is: confirm the game build, confirm the mod's last update is after May 2026 if you care about Nightmare and after November 2026 if you care about 1.2, enable the prerequisites, and relaunch once.
If the save itself will not load, use the backup rename on the save-data page before you keep toggling mods.

FAQ
Why did my mods disappear after the update?
The patch note's answer is that stale mods are disabled on purpose. Subscribe only to ones that have been updated.
What should I install first?
ContentLoader and Mod Options, then the mod you actually wanted.
