This policy matches the scripts actually on the page. brotato.app loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-REDRKJH8WF), Microsoft Clarity (project z8qbj28961) and Adsterra ads (publisher 3403020, adult ads off) by default, before you click anything. The banner you see on a first visit is a notice and a withdrawal control, not a gate: with no stored choice the site records granted and loads all three at first paint. Pressing Reject records denied and turns analytics, session recording and ads off for 180 days. The trailer is the one exception: YouTube is not requested until you press play.

Google Analytics 4 sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<container-id> to tell visitors apart; both normally expire after two years. It records the page you opened, the referrer, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser type, and interaction events such as scrolls and outbound clicks. Google receives this data as our processor. Retention follows the configured Google Analytics property settings. You can opt out of GA4 measurement on this site with the Reject button, with a browser extension such as Google Analytics Opt-out, or by blocking googletagmanager.com; the site keeps working either way.

Microsoft Clarity sets the cookies _clck (about one year) and _clsk, CLID (about one day) and may also read Microsoft cookies such as ANONCHK, MR, SM and MUID on Microsoft domains. Clarity records anonymised sessions, clicks, scroll depth and heatmaps so we can see which pages are hard to use. Form fields and other sensitive content are masked by default, and we do not type anything into them. Session recordings are kept for 30 days and aggregated heatmaps for up to 13 months. Reject stops Clarity from loading and asks it to deny storage.

Adsterra serves the native banner inside the article column and the small fixed bar at the bottom-right of the page. Adsterra and its demand partners may set cookies or read device identifiers to limit repetition, measure impressions and choose a creative, including personalised advertising. Requests go to bicea.org for the two configured placements and may continue to rotating creative hosts. Cookies may be set by Adsterra and its creative partners, not by brotato.app, and we do not receive the identifiers. You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://www.aboutads.info/choices/, https://optout.networkadvertising.org/ or https://www.youronlinechoices.com/; Adsterra's own policy is at https://adsterra.com/privacy-policy/. Adult ads are switched off for this site.

On your device the site itself stores only two local-storage keys. brotato_consent holds your banner choice plus a timestamp and is kept for 180 days. brotato_adbar_closed holds the time you pressed Hide ad bar and is also kept for 180 days, so a bar you closed does not return on the next page load. There is no account, no server-side profile and no first-party advertising cookie. Cookie settings reopens the banner. Reject replaces the consent choice with denied; it does not delete the ad-bar preference. Clearing this site’s data in your browser removes both keys and brings the banner back on the next visit.

Google Consent Mode v2 starts before analytics configuration with ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization denied, analytics_storage granted, and ads_data_redaction enabled. On a first visit this site then applies its default-on choice and requests GA4, Clarity and advertising while showing the banner. Reject withdraws this site choice, stops those scripts by reloading the page, and stores denied for 180 days. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are treated as Reject. The default-on site setting is not evidence that a visitor clicked Accept. Contact the address below for a privacy request.

Pressing play on the trailer replaces the placeholder with a YouTube iframe from youtube-nocookie.com, and Google may then set YouTube cookies and receive your IP address under its own policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. Nothing from YouTube is requested before that click. Store links to Steam, GOG, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Google Play and the App Store leave this site and have their own policies. Write to [email protected] to ask what this site stores about you or to withdraw a choice; the answer is the two local-storage keys above, which you can also delete yourself.

FAQ

Do analytics and ads load before I click Accept?

Yes. Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity and Adsterra load by default on a first visit. The banner tells you so and gives you Reject, which turns all three off for 180 days. YouTube is the exception and waits for a play click.

How do I withdraw?

Press Reject in the banner, or open Cookie settings in the footer and press Reject. The choice is remembered for 180 days. Clearing site data also removes it.

What is stored on my device?

Two local-storage keys: brotato_consent for the banner choice and brotato_adbar_closed for the fixed ad bar you hid. Third-party cookies come from Google, Microsoft and Adsterra as described above.

Can I opt out of personalised ads?

Yes. Use https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ or https://optout.networkadvertising.org/, or press Reject here. Adult ads are off on this site.
