Updated for Brotato 1.2.0.1 · checked 2026-11-05
Brotato is a top-down arena shooter roguelite. You play a potato, hold up to six weapons, and last 20 waves until help arrives. The public store page says that in one sentence, and that is the definition I use on this site.
The current PC version I am writing against is 1.2.0.1, posted on 3 Nov 2026, one day after Primal Dread reached PC on 2 Nov 2026. Console and phone editions of that DLC are dated early 2027 by a developer announcement carried by Gematsu, so I do not treat them as available today.
A run is short on purpose. Waves last somewhere between 20 and 90 seconds, the shop opens between waves, and a full clear sits under half an hour if you already know the character. Local co-op is part of the base game. Steam and GOG both say up to four players. The Switch store page says two. I keep both numbers.
The list price on the US Steam page was $4.99 when I checked on 5 Nov 2026. The cart also showed a 50 percent discount at $2.49. I record the list price as the stable figure and the discount as a sale that can end.
Where to go next
If you want a loadout, start with builds. If you want a name, start with the character table. The tier list is a reading of community build frequency, not a patch-note ranking. Primal Dread has its own page because the Jungle, Evolution, and ten new characters are not in the base rules.
