Steam Workshop is the path the game is built around. The wiki says Brotato uses ModLoader, and the Workshop front page shows God Mode, BroEditor, ContentLoader, and Mod Options near the top. Thunderstore's Brotato community, when counted for this research, had seven packages, including r2modman and GodotModLoader. I will not claim a Nexus page. The fetch I attempted did not return a usable page.

Update 1.2 and the earlier All Pain No Gain notes both say to turn old mods off before you update, because a stale mod can crash the game or damage a save. That warning is the official half of this topic. A popularity list is the other half, on the best-mods page, and it is dated September 2026 so it is already behind 1.2.

Consoles and phones do not show a Workshop. I infer they cannot load these mods. I label that as an inference from the store pages, not as a developer quote.

Do mods work after 1.2?

Only if the author updated them. The patch note says to disable the ones that did not.
