Editorial strategy: recommendations below follow the cited character rules; the source table records the underlying facts.

Build and shop priorities

Knight converts armor into melee damage, so our editorial opening is a compatible melee family that benefits from both sides of an armor purchase. Ranged weapons are forbidden and equipped weapons must meet the minimum tier rule. Avoid using a generic beginner shopping list that assumes white guns are available. Attack speed gains are reduced, which makes the displayed result more important than the item's headline amount. Armor can support both survival and offense here, but health and recovery still serve different purposes. Check the current damage pattern before concluding that another point of armor is always the best purchase.

Unlock and clear reward

A Danger 4 clear unlocks Knight. Clearing with Knight unlocks Plasma Sledge. The unlock does not require a Danger 5 victory, which is the neighboring requirement for Demon. Keep that progression order clear when choosing a first higher difficulty goal, and remember that Knight's harvesting penalty makes ordinary early economy advice less transferable.

Danger 5 decisions

For Danger 5, plan how a melee loadout reaches and leaves dangerous enemies. Armor reduces the cost of contact but does not make surrounding yourself harmless. Keep damage upgrades sufficiently current to shorten exposure, and assess recovery after successive hits. Shop choices that trade away armor deserve extra scrutiny because they can also reduce the melee damage supplied by the character rule.

Nightmare risk planning

Nightmare makes the difference between mitigation and recovery more visible. An armored Knight can still lose health faster than it restores it during an extended encounter. Our recommendation is to maintain an escape lane and evaluate attack speed through the reduced modifier before paying heavily for it. Use the armor synergy to build a balanced melee run rather than a promise of invulnerability.

Compare the weapon classes and available stats, unlock entry, Danger 5 rules, and Nightmare changes before adapting the loadout.

Knight turns armor into melee damage at plus 2 melee damage per point of armor, and starts with plus 3 armor. Ranged weapons are banned, weapons must be tier 2 or higher, attack speed is modified by minus 50 percent, and harvesting is modified by minus 80 percent. The unlock is a Danger 4 clear. A clear unlocks Plasma Sledge. brotato-builds has a Knight page and the Steam all-character guide covers the same melee-and-armor shape. I would not recommend a ranged hybrid, because the ban is on the character page itself.

FAQ

Can Knight use guns?

No. Ranged weapons are banned, and weapons must be tier 2 or higher.

Which set includes Knight?

The copied field list places Knight in Base. I do not move a character between sets to match a tier list.
