Editorial strategy: recommendations below follow the cited character rules; the source table records the underlying facts.
Build and shop priorities
Cyborg begins with Minigun and changes its damage economy halfway through each wave by converting ranged damage into engineering. Our editorial shopping plan therefore asks two questions: what clears the first part, and what uses the converted stat later? Ranged damage is the central purchase candidate because of its favorable modifier and the conversion. Buying engineering directly faces a penalty, so compare the displayed gain rather than treating identical printed item values as identical results. Keep a practical second phase damage source in mind when choosing weapons or structures, instead of polishing only the Minigun opening.
Unlock and clear reward
Reach ten ranged damage while owning three structures at the same time to unlock Cyborg. This is a simultaneous requirement, so a run that meets the two parts at unrelated moments does not match the wording. Cyborg's clear reward is Improved Tools. The starting Minigun belongs to the selected character, rather than being another prerequisite item.

Danger 5 decisions
Danger 5 advice is to inspect the transition inside the wave. If clearing suddenly collapses around the conversion, more early ranged output alone may not fix the problem. Choose a way to use the engineering phase and avoid melee or elemental investments penalized by the character. Leave some budget for personal defense so that the transition does not require standing still under pressure.
Nightmare risk planning
In Nightmare, additional enemy durability can expose a weak second half that lower difficulty masked. Our recommendation is to enter with both phases planned and maintain an exit route during the switch. Compare the value of another ranged damage purchase with improving coverage after conversion. No single phase should depend on an enemy disappearing before the character's stat behavior changes.
Compare the weapon classes and available stats, unlock entry, Danger 5 rules, and Nightmare changes before adapting the loadout.
Cyborg starts with a Minigun and a plus 200 percent ranged-damage modifier. During a wave, 100 percent of ranged damage converts into engineering at two engineering per one ranged. Engineering itself is modified by minus 75 percent, and melee and elemental are modified by minus 100 percent. The unlock is having 10 ranged damage and 3 structures at the same time. A clear unlocks Improved Tools. MetaBrotato's weapon talk is Minigun, double-barrel shotgun, rocket launcher, chain gun, and laser gun. I use that list as one community source. The conversion is the part I would not replace with a generic "buy engineering" tip, because the engineering arrives from ranged damage during the wave, not from the shop's engineering stat alone.

The copied field list places Cyborg in Base. I do not move a character between sets to match a tier list.
