Beast Master pets, unlock, and the 1.2 rat

Build and shop priorities

Beast Master cannot equip weapons, so the opening decision is which available pet improves actual coverage, rather than which gun has the best tier. Our editorial shopping priority is a reliable group of pets, then damage stats those pets read, then personal survival. The character description allows pet damage to scale from melee, ranged, elemental, and engineering. Compare the offered amount and price instead of assuming that engineering is the only useful label. Permanent pets also add speed, so check current movement before spending heavily to solve a problem the growing pet collection is already addressing.

Unlock and clear reward

The unlock is a checklist of Catling Gun, Bonk Dog, Bot-O-Mine, Blazemander, and Lootworm item unlocks. It is not an instruction to equip five guns on Beast Master, which is impossible under the character rule. Finishing a run with Beast Master unlocks Scapegoat. Use the pet table to keep the five prerequisite names separate.

Danger 5 decisions

Danger 5 advice is to watch where pets are dealing damage while moving toward safe ground yourself. Buying another pet does not grant personal armor or recovery. If enemies repeatedly reach the player before pets clear them, invest in protection or improve damage coverage rather than reserving every material for an ideal pet. Avoid weapon-specific bonuses that have no relevant attack to improve.

Nightmare risk planning

Nightmare makes the gap between autonomous damage and the player's escape route more punishing. Favor a pet mix that handles nearby pressure before chasing an elaborate late run collection. A fast character can move out of useful coverage, so make controlled turns instead of racing blindly around the arena. This is a strategy derived from the pet and movement rules, with no separate Nightmare tier assigned.
